PREBREEDING
Timing	Vaccination & Management Recommendations*
Birth	Bovine Ecolizer®+C20 (ASAP after birth), Quick Shield® (Day 1) Four quarts colostrum. Remove calf from dam. Dip navel with tincture of iodine. Place calf in sterile, freshly bedded pen.
Days 2-3	Poly Serum® (if needed, once every 12 – 24 hours) Four quarts transition milk or milk replacer. Monitor for scours.
Days 4-14	Test for PI BVD and cull as necessary. Feed milk replacer or pasteurized milk. Provide fresh water at all times. Monitor for scours.
Weeks 2-4	Inactivated Approach: Vira Shield® 6+L5 HB (2 doses), Clostri Shield® 7 (2 doses) MLV Approach: Arsenal® 4.1, ReproSTAR® L5 HB, Clostri Shield 7 (2 doses) Offer ad lib calf starter. Provide fresh water at all times. Dehorn when buds are palpable.
Week 8	For heifers that received Arsenal 4.1 at 2 – 4 weeks: Vira Shield 6+L5 HB (2 doses) Wean and move to small-group housing. Monitor for scours and respiratory disease. Place on heifer ration for volumetric growth.
Month 4	For heifers that received Arsenal 4.1 at 2 – 4 weeks: ReproSTAR L5 HB (booster)
Month 6	Fusogard® (2 doses)
PREGNANCY AND PRECALVING*

Months 12-13	Vira Shield 6+L5 HB (annual revaccination for inactivated approach), Fusogard (annual revaccination) Clostri Shield 7 (annual revaccination) Height and weight check. Target breeding at 55 – 60% mature body weight. Heat detection and estrous synchronization as needed. Breed as appropriate.
Months 14-20	Preg-check and rebreed as necessary. Adjust ration based on energy and growth requirements.
8-16 Weeks Prior to Calving	Scour Bos® 9, Clostridium Perfringens Type A Toxoid Move to far-off dry pen (monitor activity first week). Height and weight check. First week—monitor dry matter intake
4 Weeks Prior to Calving	Scour Bos 4, Clostridium Perfringens Type A Toxoid (booster) Move to close-up pen. Check for mastitis, treat as necessary. Monitor dry matter intake.
